A message from Mike

Dear Onalaska Voters,

I have spoken with many of you as I campaigned door-to-door in Onalaska’s neighborhoods. Our conversations have proven to me that Onalaska is a city with wonderful people who care for children and willingly fund the schools they need. You want to protect the beauty and recreational opportunities of our rivers and coulees. And you work hard to support your families. You expect your local government to provide for public health and economic welfare. You think Onalaska is a great place to live. I agree.

While we are doing well here, troubling economic realities such as exploding energy and food costs, the unstable cost of capital and a likely recession demand changes to how our city meets its responsibilities.

Our challenge is to keep improving our city even under adverse conditions. To meet this challenge we must adopt technological advances that improve productivity, promote business that will provide good jobs, and increase the value of city services and reduce the cost of those services.

The job of the next mayor is to lead with vision and innovation. I believe that my business, government and academic background demonstrates this leadership. Together we have the vision needed to make our city an even better place for our children. I ask for your vote on April 1st.
